The sound quality is good--excellent if you give extra points for the low price. It was easy and reasonably quick to load MP3 files from my PC to the Coby MP305 once I figured out how to get into the correct USB mode. I am also impressed that this unit includes an excellent FM radio--my $300 iPod doesn't have a radio

I like everything about this device higher except for the confusing and limiting user interface. You can set up separate folders for each album or artist, but navigating from one album to another or from one artist to another is quirky at best. If you are looking for an excellent value on a shuffle-mode MP3 player, look no further, but if you want to be able to select specific songs, this may not be the model for you.
I really love my MP3 player. This one is great for putting many songs on. I use it when working out. The battery life is long. I have had the product for a month now and they still have the batteries in it that came with it. I work out almost daily, so I am really suprised that they have lasted almost 30 hours and its still going.
This product is easy to use. I also really love the FM radio feature on it. That way if I choose to I can listen to the radio too.
i didn't realize this requires 1 AAA battery when i bought it. but it does and even with a brand new, never before used battery, it dies really really fast. i listened to it for two different days about 20 minutes each time and it started dying the second day. it's really cute, you can change the backlight color to several different ones which is pretty cool. but i don't really recommend it since the battery life sucks so horribly.
It seems the unit has a mind of it's own in that it turns itself off. Then, when I try to turn it back on - the light comes on - but the name 'Colby' fails to appear (as it should) and it simply does not turn back on. The has happened several times so it does not seem to be a fluke. What HAS to be done is the battery has to be removed and then reinserted and THEN it will perform correctly. It's unfortunate since I use the player during a workout. What can I say - if I had to do it over again I would not purchase this unit.
